FoReNsIcS lAb

1) when we were working on each lab we had to stay observant because otherwise you didn't get work done. one example of both the good and the bad are when i was working on the firearms and ballistics lab we weren't really trying that hard in the second go round to get things done and we just gave up. while in the fibers lab and the soil lab we stayed on task with only some slip ups a.k.a when we were working on the fibers lab we accidentally blew out the flame many times and also got a large clump of fabric in the flame. during the labs when we were working to solve the case it was important to look closely at each specimen. one such instance was during the fibers lab when we were looking at the different fibers under the microscope we had to look at the crime scene fiber then the other fibers and see if they looked similar, also when were burning the cloth we had to make sure to make good observations in order to make inferences to find out which suspect was guilty.

2) it was hard to be precise when we were fully involved in the process one instance was measuring in the soil lab, we couldn't be sure of the amount of soil or water needed and we couldn't make the weighing system exact so when we were weighing soil to make 25 grams it wasn't exact and wavered between below the zero and above the line. another instance was in the fibers lab when we were burning the material we couldn't be sure if we were burning the same amount of fiber or not, also wether or not we could actually see what a strand of each fiber looked like while the suspect fiber was in a strand so you couldn't see what the crime fiber looked like when it was in a piece of fabric.

3) when we were following the instructions to get to a point in the firearms and ballistics lab, the fibers lab and the soil lab we were using known data to get to a point that was when we started to generate our own data. in the fibers lab we generated our own data when we drew the fibers and when we burned them. in the soil lab we generated our own data when we were measuring the soil and filtering it though the water. in the firearms and ballistics lab we generated our own data when we were measuring the bullets and coming up with the weight diameter and texture. the difference is that our ideas are guided and then once we generate our own data we create our own hypothesis and theories to come up with the answer.

by doing multiple drops at each height you got a different perspective so that you could reach an average and then create a table. the purpose of doing multiple tests is to find what the average is so that you don't just have one number instead you have multiple to work off of. when the height is increased the splatter effect is also made larger and the space the splatter takes up is larger and that when the splatter landed it was sometimes smaller at a higher altitude and sometimes much larger. you couldn't tell what the height was by simply looking at the splatter because sometimes it was smaller than a shorter drop one.

Desperaux and his mom were washing dishes the clank and clatter of the dishes and silverware filled the room and covered all other sound. Desperaux and his mother washed and washed saying little but still they didn’t hear the creak of the floorboards of the deck. Soon Desperaux said something to his mother, both oblivious to all other noise. On the deck a board creaked inside water splashed the dishes clanking and clattering as the mother and son washed them. Then a face hidden in shadows looked into the room. The person in the shadows saw the mother and son and smiled wickedly and their teeth flashed in the light from the kitchen. Slowly moving through the shadows a figure walked delicately over the dead leaves and branches. He had seen what he wanted to see soon he would strike.

Inside the mother and son still washed dishes but soon they were tired and went upstairs to sleep. Outside the strange person crouched, Moonlight struck through the branches as a cloud moved away from the moon. The figure was short and as a flash of moonlight passed over their face their eyes were red and their mouth was smirking. A dark red cloak covered their form and when the hood was blown back in a gust of wind the face was revealed as that of a young girl with short hair so blond it was almost white, And in the moonlight that flashed across her features she looked like a ghost.

The next day the mother and Desperaux were on their way downstairs to finish the dishes and outside someone was waiting for them. The girl was crouched behind a large potted plant that sat next to the glass doors. The day was cloudy and the girl was almost invisible but for the red cloak the color of blood. Soon the girl was ready with a giant axe in her hands and she leapt for the gilded glass doors smashing it and tumbling into the room. Desperaux mother grabbed his arm and dragged him towards the door then let go of him and said “go Desperaux save yourself!” then she let out a shriek as the axe cut her back but she was still breathing and still telling desperaux to leave to save himself but before he could move the front door swung open and two figures leapt in one a girl in a flowing coat with dark black hair that gleamed and a boy that was in a jacket and shorts with golden blond hair, the girl was carrying a gilded scythe.

Soon all that the mother and son could see was the blood of the small girl with the giant axe then all of them from the girl to the two who had saved them were gone.
